Agatha Raisin and the Day the Floods Came
Synopsis
Crankier than ever, Agatha Raisin is struggling to cope with a fresh humiliation: her husband has left her—not for another woman, but to join a monastery. Feeling abandoned, overweight, unfashionable, and furious, she searches for a way to move forward.
She tries an island vacation and even signs up for a Pilates class. But what truly revives her spirits is stumbling across a murder.
The victim is a young woman from Agatha’s exercise class, found floating in a rain-swollen river. Dressed in a bridal gown and clutching a wedding bouquet, the dead woman presents a mystery Agatha cannot resist.
Although her friend, Detective Bill Wong, urges her to leave the investigation to the Worcester CID, Agatha has other ideas. Teaming up with the bachelor mystery writer next door, adopting disguises, and interviewing suspects, she throws herself into solving the crime.
As she follows a trail of secrets and lies, Agatha soon discovers that getting too close to the truth could make her the killer’s next target.
