Killing Time
Synopsis
Beloved New York Times bestselling author M. C. Beaton’s cranky and crafty Agatha Raisin returns for another entertaining mystery.
Agatha Raisin’s private detective agency is busier than ever, investigating a series of shop burglaries that have been troubling the local community. What begins as a property crime soon becomes far more serious when one of Agatha’s friends is murdered during a raid on his shop.
Determined to bring the criminals to justice, Agatha throws herself into the investigation. At the same time, she agrees to help her longtime friend Sir Charles Fraith organize a lavish promotional event on the grounds of his ancestral estate, Barfield House.
But Agatha soon finds herself facing dangers of her own. After receiving threatening messages and narrowly escaping an attempted abduction, she decides to lie low for a while on a previously planned trip to Mallorca.
There she reunites with her partner, former police officer John Glass, who is working as a dance instructor aboard a cruise ship. Unfortunately, Agatha’s jealousy over John’s apparent closeness to his dance partner threatens to derail their relationship.
Returning home with new determination, Agatha realizes she has uncovered the identity of the person behind the threats against her. Now she must solve the murder, stop those targeting her, and save her romance before it is too late.
All the mysteries converge at the spectacular Barfield Extravaganza, where Agatha not only confronts a modern killer but also uncovers the solution to a four-hundred-year-old Cotswold murder mystery.
