As the Pig Turns
Synopsis
The picturesque Cotswold village of Winter Parva decides to brighten the bleak days after Christmas with a traditional pig roast in the town square. Always eager for local festivities, Agatha Raisin organizes an outing to enjoy the celebration.
But just as the pig is carried toward the roasting spit, Agatha realizes something is terribly wrong.
The “pig” is actually Gary Beech, a local policeman who was far from popular with the villagers. Dead and disguised for the grisly spectacle, he leaves behind a community filled with potential suspects.
Agatha initially intends to leave the investigation to the authorities. However, when Gary’s ex-wife hires Raisin Investigations to look into the murder—and is herself murdered shortly afterward—Agatha can no longer stay out of the case.
Driven by equal parts curiosity, determination, and competitive pride, Agatha throws herself into uncovering the truth. As she digs deeper into village secrets and long-held grudges, she discovers that more than one person may have wanted Gary Beech dead.
