A pixie-infested farmhouse. A pain-in-the-butt familiar. A hunky lumberjack shifter.  Not at all what a witch on the run like me expects to find in the small town of Redbud, Indiana; but life’s been throwing me a bunch of curveballs lately. Most recently, it’s led me to discover a demonic curse on the family grimoire that is sucking the magic straight out of my coven’s hearts — 10/10, do not recommend. Now there’s only one thing an uninitiated witch like me can do.  Steal it.  I have to get that spellbook as far away from my family and the rival coven who cursed it as possible. Then, I can hide it and figure out how to break the curse, preferably before it decides to infect me... or before those hellhound trackers hunt me down.  Time to say goodbye to carefree afternoon teas and hello to a new identity, a new town, a secret place to work, and absolutely no distractions — including that gorgeous bad-boy shifter with a hidden past of his own. So, those overly curious, gossiping pixies currently infesting my new farmhouse? They’ve got to go. Tonight. A new witch is in town, and I’m on a mission.  If you like cottagecore with an edge, slow-burn forbidden romance, sassy sidekicks, demonic baddies, found family, small towns, humor, the occasional cozy vibe, and (eventually) a fae king, this is the story for you. The Cider Hex

A grimoire hidden in the basement. A parasite ring devouring my magic. Two covens and their hellhounds in a race to hunt me down. You’d think with all that going on in a witch’s life, she’d have more important things to worry about than turning a profit at the farmers market festival, yet here I am. But hear me out, if my revitalized cider farm makes some money, that means my bills are paid, and if I’m not forced out of my farmhouse—which has been pretty good at keeping me hidden so far—I can focus my attention solely on unlocking the curse plaguing my family’s spell book. Pretty straightforward, right? Apparently not, because even though I’ve been diligent about keeping a low profile—besides occasionally flirting with that lumbersnack of a shifter, Arthur Greenwood—someone has a grudge against me and my cider business. With each attack, I’m forced to delve into the magic I left behind, the same magic that gives those covens and their hellhounds the means to track me. If Sawyer and I don’t find this rogue spellcaster quick and force them to lift their hex, I might not have a farm—or a grimoire—to save. A warlock with a sinister contract. A spreading blight. A forbidden shifter I can’t seem to stay away from. All three ignite when the gypsy wagons of the Carnival Cauchemar roll into town. You’d think I’d be exempt from more hexes and hijinks, what with me hiding away and minding my own business on my cider farm, but apparently not. When I anger the curse leeching off my family’s spell book, I’m forced to leave my refuge for countermeasures just in time to be sucked into an underground of shady deals, endangered friends, maybe one or two opportunities for stolen kisses with a certain lumbersnack shifter, and a creature most terrifying: a warlock. It seems I’ve spirited a cursed spell book away to an even more cursed town, and if the stakes weren’t grave before, they certainly are now. Something’s affecting my magic, and if Sawyer, the Crafting Circle, and I don’t figure it out soon, I can say goodbye to lazy afternoon naps and Thursday night cocktails. Permanently. The answers to all our questions—including the truth about the grimoire curse—lead us into the heart of an old forest, the one place Grandmother has always forbidden us to go.
